A&M International To Begin Intramural Basketball League

Texas A&M International University students, staff, and faculty are invited to participate in a newly formed Intramural Basketball League set to begin Tuesday, April 7.

The League will feature men's, women's and co-ed divisions. Each team must have a minimum of 6 players. Co-ed teams must be comprised of at least three females.

Teams must provide a non-player to assist the official scorekeeper during the games they play. Two warm-up balls and the game ball will be provided.

Games will be played round robin at 6 p.m. Monday - Friday at the University's Kinesiology/Convocation Building beginning April 1 League play will end with a two-day tournament April 24 - 25.

Both the round robin games and the tournament will be governed by the National Federation of State High School Association's Basketball Rule Book.

Clara Sandoval, Associate Director of Recreational Sports at A&M International, organized the intramural basketball league and is currently developing other intramural sports programs for the University. Upcoming intramural programs include volleyball, table tennis, badminton, indoor soccer, and pickle ball.

The Recreational Sports office is open from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday - Saturday.
