A&M International Hosts Science Mini-Conference Sat., April 25

Community members who are interested in science and technology are cordially invited to attend "The Third Annual Research Mini-Conference" to be held at Texas A&M International University on Saturday, April 25 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. in Canseco Hall room 101.

The event, which is sponsored by the University's College of Science and Technology, will feature brief presentations on research conducted by faculty, students and alumni from the College of Science and Technology. Research areas to be presented include mathematics, biology, chemistry, environmental science, and physics.

Among the scheduled presentations are: "Herbicide Degrading Pseudomonadaceae," presented by Cecilia Garcia-Rios, A&M International chemistry student; "The xisA Element of Anabaena Asollae" by Melissa Magnon, A&M International biology student; "Potential Symmetries I," Dr. Sanjay Rai, assistant professor of mathematics, A&M International; "Potential Symmetries II," Dr. Terrance Quinn, assistant professor of mathematics, A&M International; "A Computational Study of the Axial Tilt of the Planet Uranus," Maxsimo Salazar, A&M International physics student; "The Retrograde Rotation of the Planet Venus: A Numerical Model," Raymundo Castillo Jr., A&M International physics student; "On the Structure of Aryl Boronic Acids," Gabriela Cisneros, A&M International chemistry student; and "Linearized Inverse Problem, " Dr. Robert Robertson, assistant professors of mathematics, A&M International.

After each presentation, audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions.
