The Texas A&M International University Office of Career Planning and Placement will host Teacher Fair '98 on Thursday, April 23 from 2 - 6 p.m. in the Kinesiology Building at the University's main campus, 5201 University Boulevard.

Teacher Fair '98 provides University students, alumni, and community members an opportunity to meet with prospective employers to discuss various career opportunities in education, and to hear firsthand career success stories.

Up to 50 recruiters from local, regional, and out-of-state school districts are expected to converge on the A&M International campus for Teacher Fair '98.

Many school districts participating in Teacher Fair '98 will accept resumes and have employment applications available.

Viky Garcia, Director of Career Planning and Placement at the University, said Teacher Fair '98 is ideal for persons who wish to obtain information on full-time and part-time jobs in education.

"The Teacher Fair affords students an opportunity to gather information about job possibilities, programs, benefits, and other career information. Students can also get advice on career planning and successfully following chosen career paths," said Garcia.

Freshmen, sophomore, and junior students who are exploring academic majors and career options, and upper division and graduate students interested in exploring career options and employment opportunities are encouraged to attend the free Teacher Fair '98.
