Texas A&M International University's Academic Enrichment Center will offer a free TASP Math Workshop on Saturday, June 13 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. in Bullock Hall room 220.

The free workshop is designed to help students succeed on the math portion of the TASP (Texas Academic Skills Program). It will help participants become familiar with the contents of the test, the format of the test items, and the best strategies for working through the test.

The Official TASP Study Guide will be used. The Study Guide includes detailed suggestions, examples, and explanations.

TASP is a statewide program required by Texas law to ensure that students entering Texas public colleges and universities have the basic reading, writing, and mathematics skills needed to be successful in college-level work.

All full- or part-time students enrolled at Texas public colleges and universities and those entering any educator preparation program in Texas must take the TASP, unless qualified for TASP exemption.

Students who need more information on the TASP may contact Sandra Sanders, associate director of the University's Academic Enrichment Center, at 326-2132 during normal business hours. Information may also be secured by email at ssanders@tamiu.edu.

Journalists who need additional information or help with media requests and interviews should contact the Office of Public Affairs and Information Services at pais@tamiu.edu
