A&M International's Alexander Chosen for Governor's Executive Program

A Texas A&M International University administrator has been selected to participate in a Governor's program aimed at providing top executives in state government access to the most current thinking in executive management.

Michelle Alexander, vice president of Advancement and External Affairs, will spend three separate weeks in Fort Worth, South Padre and Austin attending seminars for the Class XVII of the Governor's Executive Development Program.

In addition to providing updated information, the program introduces an interagency network of government leaders dedicated to planning the future of Texas.

Alexander joined A&M International in March after serving as director of major gifts at Houston's University of St. Thomas since 1991. While at UST, she created the major giving program and was a major fundraiser in the university's $34.6 million capital campaign.

Prior to her position at the University of St. Thomas, Alexander held advancement positions at Peace College, Raleigh, North Carolina; Lake Erie College, Ohio; The University of Akron; Cleveland State University and Case Western Reserve University.

Alexander holds a bachelor's degree in political science and international relations from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. Additional graduate work has been undertaken at Wayne State and Case Western Reserve University.

Honors she has received have included being named an "Outstanding Young Woman of America," a "Foremost Woman of the Twentieth Century" and "Who's Who in U.S. Executives." She received the Board of Trustees Award for Outstanding Service from the University of Akron.
