Because the rising flood waters may have kept some students from regular Fall registration, Texas A&M International University will waive late registration fees for all students during Late Registration August 31 - Sept. 4.

University president Dr. Charles Jennett said the late fee waiver is an effort to provide students affected by the flood situation an opportunity to continue their educational pursuits.

"We fully realize that the flood disaster has been a key issue in many of our students' lives this week. We're not going to penalize them for not being able to make it out to our campus during registration and want to encourage them to take advantage of this late registration period to register for classes and continue their undergraduate or graduate degree progress," Dr. Jennett said.

Students who wish to register late should visit the University's Office of the Registrar located in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library, room 168, between August 31 - Sept. 4.

Fall semester courses at A&M International begin August 31.
