College of Science & Technology Faculty Additions Named

The addition of new faculty members to Texas A&M International University's College of Science and Technology has been announced by interim College dean Dr. Juan Homero Hinojosa.

"We're delighted to welcome these new additions to our faculty.Their addition will enable us to continue our program growth and expansion and better serve the needs of our students," Dr. Hinojosa said.

Joining the faculty are Carmen L. Bruni, Dianne S. Marquart and Scott J. Simmons.

Carmen L. Bruni, assistant professor of nursing, holds her MS in Nursing from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio and a BSN in Nursing from Texas Woman's University.

Prior to joining A&M International, she was a member of the nursing faculty at Laredo Community College. Fully licensed and certified, she has also worked as a school nurse with Laredo Independent School District and in various nursing and nursing education positions at Mercy Regional Medical Center.

Dianne S. Marquart, instructor of mathematics, holds her MS in Computational and Applied Mathematics from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. She also earned her BS in Secondary Education at Old Dominion.

Prior to joining A&M International, she taught at Old Dominion and at Tidewater Community College.

Scott J. Simmons, assistant professor of mathematics, will be receiving his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Kentucky. He also holds an MA and BA in Mathematics from the University of Kentucky.

Prior to joining A&M International, he was an instructor at the University of Kentucky. His doctoral dissertation explores elliptic genera, homogenous spaces and loop groups.
