The Texas A&M International University Alumni Association has awarded four scholarships for the 1998-99 academic year.

Two scholarships were awarded to undergraduate students Sylvia A. Rodriguez, a biology major, and Joyce L. Vanek, a psychology major.

Two scholarships were awarded to graduate students Belinda Medina, an education major, and Maria Dolores Perez, a Spanish major.

Each recipient will receive $500 per semester with a maximum award of $1,000.

Recipients were selected by a committee comprised of three Alumni Association members, Mario A. Peña, Mary T. Treviño and Elizabeth N. Martinez.

The Texas A&M International University Alumni Association, serving graduates since 1972, awards at least one undergraduate scholarship and one graduate scholarship every academic year. This year, for the first time in the organization's history, the Alumni Association was able to increase the number of scholarships to four as a result of increased fundraising efforts. The Alumni Association is committed to increasing the number of scholarships awarded each year through hard work and dedicated fundraising efforts.
