A&M International Soccer Club Wins City Championship

The Texas A&M International University Soccer Club captured the Laredo Soccer League's City Soccer Championship (Division B) after a grueling game against the defending city champs, "Rainbow."

The A&M International team won the city championship on the kicks after two overtimes.

Among the spectators at the championship game was A&M International president Dr. Charles Jennett, who congratulated University team after the victory for "a great game" and "wonderful performance."

The Texas A&M International University Soccer Club, which has competed in the Laredo Soccer League for three years, is comprised of A&M International students, alumni, and friends of the University.

Soccer Club members include Mario Carmona, Richard Casso, Saul Contreras, Faustino Garza, Nicholas Merza, Alejandro Morales, Juan Padilla, Merced Peña, Carlos Ramírez, Cesar Javier Ramirez, Carlos Ramos, Raul Ramos, José Francisco Rodríguez, Omar Salcedo, and Jesús Velazquez.
