A&M International to Host UISD "Fine Arts Fiesta '99" Sat., Feb. 13

Texas A&M International University will host the United Independent School District "Fine Arts Fiesta '99" on Saturday, Feb. 13 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. in the Kinesiology/Convocation Building.

The event will feature approximately 1,000 UISD students competing in visual and performance arts.

Categories for the visual competition include color drawing, black and white drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media.

Entries will be displayed in the Kinesiology/Convocation Building during the "Fiesta" with awards for the visual competition to be presented at 1:10 p.m.

Categories for the performance competition include mariachi, choir, band, and dance. The performance schedule includes: 9 a.m., Alexander High School Singers; 9:15 a.m., United Middle School Band; 9:30 a.m., Washington Middle School Sparklers Dance Team; 9:40 a.m., Washington Middle School Cheerleaders; 9:45 a.m., Alexander High School Mariachi; 10:15 a.m., Los Obispos Middle School Cheerleaders; 10:20 a.m., Los Obispos Middle School Pawsteppers Danz Team; 10:30 a.m., Clark Middle School Cheerleaders; 10:40 a.m., United South Middles School Choir, Los Obispos Middle School Choir, and United South High School Choir; 11:00 a.m., United South Middle School Band, Los Obispos Middle School Band, and Salvador Garcia Middle School Band; 11:30 a.m., George Washington Middle School Jazz Band; 11:55 a.m. Trautmann Middle School Lassos and Cheerleaders; and 12:30 p.m., United South High School Mariachi.
