In honor of International Woman's Day, a free forum titled "Laredo Women in Politics: Fearless Voices in a Common Struggle" will be held at Texas A&M International University on Monday, Mar. 8 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. in Bullock Hall room 101.

The public is cordially invited to attend this free event. It is sponsored by three A&M International student organizations, Latinos United for Culture, Heritage, and Advancement (LUCHA), the History Club, and Women Advancing Women.

Special guest speaker will be Lucy Cardenas, history instructor at Laredo Community College. Cardenas, a native Laredoan, will present an insightful look at women in Laredo politics and at the rise of Hispanic women politicians in the present era.

After her presentation, members of the audience will be invited to ask questions and participate in a discussion on the issue.
