The newest student organization to receive an official charter at Texas A&M International University is the Student Nurses Association (SNA), an organization dedicated to the profession of nursing, its practice, and to the promotion of health in the community.

SNA faculty sponsor Carmen Bruni, assistant professor of nursing with the University's Dr. F. M. Canseco School of Nursing, said the SNA provides support and unity to the School's nursing students, promotes health through community involvement, and disseminates local, state, and national information concerning student nurses.

Officers for the newly established organization are Claudio Ruiz, president; Sonia Reyna, vice president; Lisa Castaneda, secretary; Maricarmen Salinas, treasurer; Cynthia Fraga, historian; and Cynthia Cruz, parliamentarian.

The SNA is a chapter of the Texas Student Nurses Association and the National Student Nurses Association.
