One Time Only Summer ExCET Test Scheduled

A one-time only summer administration of the examination for the certification of Educators in Texas (ExCET) is being scheduled July 10, 1999 at various sites across the State.

Dr. Rosa Maria Vida, Dean of Texas A&M International University's College of Education said the test is being made available for those individuals who were unable to complete their emergency registration for the June 12, 1999 administration prior to the June 8 deadline.

"This an unusual test opportunity that will in all likelihood not be repeated. We would advise individuals to act on this opportunity and to do so promptly," Dr Vida explained.

Registration for the July testing can be secured by telephone only and by calling (413) 256-2888 June 21-July 2 and on July 6. The registration fee is $72 per test plus $70 emergency registration fee.

Sites where the test will be administered include Austin, Edinburg/McAllen, El Paso, Fort Worth/Arlington, Houston and Lubbock.

Score report mailing date will be Aug. 6.

Vida noted that it the July 10 administration is not a retest opportunity for those candidates who are not successful on the June 12, 1999 test administration.

Application forms and additional information are available locally by calling the College of Education's Certification Office at 326-2427 or visiting offices located in the Killam Library, Room 333.
