Free 4th of July Concert at A&M International to Feature Top Talent

Some of the region's most talented entertainers will be featured performers for Texas A&M International University's second annual free outdoor Fourth of July concert Sunday, July 4 at 8 p.m. in the campus main plaza.

The University's "Laredo, USA: A Fourth of July Celebration and Picnic," will feature patriotic performances by the Texas A&M International University Band directed by Elmo Lopez Sr., A&M International's Dance Performance Troupe directed by Bede Leyendecker; the University's energetic High Twisters dance team; the University Choir; and the River City Big Band, a Glenn Miller-style concert band formed from the University Band.

Adding to the entertainment will be a number of guest performers including students from the Leyendecker Academy of Dance and the Vidal M. Treviño Magnet School Dancers.

A variety of food and non-alcoholic refreshments will be sold during the concert, including soft drinks, hot dogs, and ice cream.

The community is invited to bring their lawn chairs and blankets to the casual, family-friendly, alcohol-free concert.
