A&M International Offers Trip to Monterrey, Mexico Aug. 6 - 8

Summer is traditionally vacation time and Texas A&M International University has taken note. The University's Office of Continuing Education is offering a three-day weekend tour to Monterrey, Mexico Aug. 6 - 8.

Tour fee is $179 per person and includes round-trip transportation from Laredo via chartered air-conditioned bus, two overnight hotel stays, intercity transportation, and admission tickets to special attractions. Tour fee is based on double occupancy.

Among the sites participants will explore are the Museum of Contemporary Art; "Cola de Caballo," an impressive waterfall located just south of Monterrey; the "Grutas de Garcia," natural caverns that tunnel deep into the heart of the region's rugged mountains; the Museum of Mexican History; "Barrio Antiguo," a tony area in the historic downtown district filled with shops, cafes, and galleries; and "Los Cavazos," a trendy area of roadside shops and restaurants.

Tour participants will dine at carefully selected restaurants renowned for their fabulous food and ambiance, including "El Rey Del Cabrito."

Free time has also been included in the itinerary so tour participants can explore the city at their leisure.

Interested persons may register for the tour by visiting the University's Office of Continuing Education located in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library, room 332. Space is limited so interested persons should register as soon as possible.

Individuals who register for the tour are responsible for obtaining the necessary documents for travel to Mexico. The University's Office of Continuing Education can provide further information on required travel documents.
