University's Language Institute Registering for ESL Courses

Texas A&M International University's International Language Institute is conducting registration for Intensive and Semi-Intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) courses set to begin at the University Aug. 23.

Six Intensive ESL courses, from Beginning to Advanced levels, will be offered weekday mornings, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m., from Aug. 23 - Oct. 15. Intensive courses consist of 160 classroom hours plus additional work in a multimedia lab. Tuition is $800 per Intensive course.

Three levels of Semi-Intensive ESL courses will be offered weekday evenings, 7:30 - 10 p.m., from Aug. 23 - Dec. 15. The courses are scheduled as follows: ESL 101, Beginning Level, Mondays and Wednesdays; ESL 103, Intermediate Level, Tuesdays and Thursdays; and ESL 105, Advanced Level, Mondays and Wednesdays. Semi-Intensive courses consist of 80 classroom hours plus additional work in a multimedia lab. Tuition is $400 per Semi-Intensive course.

Two 80-hour ESL Conversation courses will also be offered Aug. 23 - Dec. 15. A Beginning ESL Conversation course is scheduled on Monday and Wednesday afternoons, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. An Intermediate ESL Conversation course is scheduled on Monday and Wednesday evenings, 7:30 - 10 p.m. Tuition for either ESL Conversation course is $450.

Additional ESL course offerings include ESL Level 5 Vocabulary--Advanced, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m., Aug. 23 - Oct. 15, tuition $200; and ESL Accent Reduction--Intermediate/Advanced, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Aug. 23 - Oct. 15, tuition $200.

Registration and payment processing for any ESL course may be completed at ILI offices located in the University's Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library, suite 214.
