A&M International's High Twisters Dance Team Holds Auditions Sept. 4

Texas A&M International University's High Twisters dance team will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 1 from 6:30 - 7 p.m. in the Kinesiology/Convocation Building for students who wish to audition for the team.

A&M International students, graduating high school seniors, transfer students, and continuing students who will attend the University in 1999-2000 must meet the following qualifications in order to audition for the dance team: be enrolled at A&M International at least six hours during Fall '99; have at least one year of varsity dance or cheerleading experience or at least three years of private dance lessons, preferably jazz and ballet; and have an overall grade point average of a 2.0 and not be on academic probation or suspension.

Applications and additional pertinent information will be distributed at the Sept. 1 meeting.

A mandatory workshop for High Twisters applicants will be held on Friday, Sept. 3, from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Kinesiology/Convocation Building. Workshop fee is $20.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, Sept. 4 from 4 - 6 p.m. in the Kinesiology/Convocation Building.

Students who are accepted into the High Twisters Dance Team must pay a membership fee of $10 per month, perform 10 hours of community service each semester, and participate in monthly fundraising activities.

University students who wish to audition for the A&M International High Twisters Dance Team should contact dance team sponsor Araceli S. Rangel at 326-2225. University office hours are from 8 .m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
