A&M International Student Club Hosts Block Party Nov. 6

The community is invited to attend a free "Fiesta de la Comunidad" Block Party Saturday, Nov. 6 from 2:30 - 5:30 p.m. at the Iglesia Bautista Eben-Ezer, 2719 Mier.

The event is sponsored by Texas A&M International University's Baptist Student Ministries (BSM), a student organization, and the Iglesia Bautista Eben-Ezer.

The Community Block Party will include information booths, food, games and craft projects for children, Bible story lessons, a puppet show, and performances by the BSM Mime Team.

The information booths and children's activities, including carnival-style games like wet sponge throw, balloon dart throw, and fish pond, face painting, clowns and balloon animals, will take place throughout the event, from 2:30 - 5:30 p.m.

The Bible lessons and crafts will be held from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. Among the craft projects children will have a chance to make are a "What Would Jesus Do?" bracelet. The Texas Migrant Council, Inc. and Child Care Management Services will also have craft projects for children.

The puppet shows and Mime Team performances are scheduled at various times throughout the afternoon. The BSM Mime Team, a local ministry team, will perform musical interpretation, using sign language and mime interpretation.

Among the community service groups who will have booths at the Block Party are Healthy Families Laredo and Child Care Management Services of Texas Migrant Council, Inc.

Free hot dogs and sno cones will be provided while supplies last.
