Texas A&M International University students who are considering law school have an opportunity to attend the 1999 Law School Forum in Houston Saturday, Oct. 23 for free.

Transportation and one night hotel stay will be free for A&M International students who travel to the Forum through the University's Office of Career Services, thanks to a subsidy from the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC).

To sign up for the expense-paid travel to the Law Forum, A&M International students should contact the Office of Career Services located in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library, room 157. Those who sign up must leave a $10 deposit with Career Services. The deposit will be refunded after returning from the Forum.

Interested students should sign up as soon as possible since space is limited to 30 and reservations are on a first-come basis. If space is available, the travel opportunity will be extended to alumni of the University.

Students who participate in the Forum trip will depart from the A&M International campus on Oct. 22 and return to Laredo in the evening Oct. 23. Trip participants must wear business attire and have multiple copies of their resume with them.

At the Forum, students will talk directly with representatives of LSAC-member law schools from across the nation. Students may also obtain admission materials, catalogs, and financial aid information. Students may also attend workshops on financing a legal education, the application process, and opportunities for minorities.

A&M International students and alumni who need more information should contact the University's Office of Career Services at 326-2260. Their office hours are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Friday and 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Additional information about the Office of Career Services may be obtained via the University's Home Page at http://www.tamiu.edu.
