91 A&M International Students Receive Texas AMP Scholarships

Over $45,000 in scholarships has been awarded to 91 Texas A&M International University students.

The scholarship recipients each received $500 from the Texas Alliance for Minority Participation (Texas AMP) Scholarship, a scholarship for minority undergraduate students majoring in math, biology, engineering, chemistry, science, or computer information systems.

A&M International students who were first-time recipients of the Texas AMP Scholarship this Fall include Jaime Alvarado, Ezequiel Bautista, Lindsey Black, Heriberto Castro, Pamela Clark, Yolanda De La Cruz, Valerie De La Paz, Luis De Leon, Rebecca Espinoza, Bernice Esteghamatdarshad, Azalea Flores, Ruth Flores, John Gutierrez, Aimee Haber, Jessica Hiarmes, Alfredo Jasso III, Ileana Juarez, Yvette Lancette, Elena Lerma, Enrique Lobo, Norma Lobo, Edgar Martinez, Yolanda Mauricio, Hipolito Palomo, Fuzhan Parhizgar, Robert Parhizgar, Amahet Peña, Christopher Ramirez, Lorena Ramirez, Veronica Ramos, Alejandra Robaina, Clarissa Ruiz, Cynthia Sanchez, Gilbert Sanchez, Michael Soto, Erika Torres, Jessica Villanueva, and Vicente Zuno.

Students who were recipients of the Texas AMP Scholarship this Fall and have received the Scholarship through A&M International in previous semesters include Antonio Ariel Arredondo, Cristina Ayala, Alice A. Benavides, Arturo Botello, Elaine M. Botello, Gerardo Bueno, Thomas Campos, Esmeralda M. Cardenas, Antonio Carranza, Rosa Carranza, Imelda Chapa, Aida Chavez, Gabriel Cisneros, Yareth Coutino, Elisa Cuellar, Omar De La Cruz, Aurora Dominguez, Jessica Escamilla, Jo Emma Farias, Jose A. Flores, Manuel Gamboa Jr., Cecilia Garcia-Rios, Michael Joe Garcia, Ricardo Garza-Gongora, Andres Gonzalez, Francisco Eduardo Gonzalez, Rosa Gutierrez, Susana Hinojosa, Jeffrey Huvar, Adriana Juarez, Phillip Layton, Berenisse Mares, Alma Mendez, Norma Mendiola, Liz Paulina Millan, Jules Ashton Minne, Melinda Perez, John David Rodriguez, Sara Rodriguez, Sylvia Araceli Rodriguez, Aurora Rosillo, Melissa Ruiz, Jo Ann Saenz, Rodolfo Saldivar, Julissa Anne Salinas, Daniel Sanchez, Neetash Sharma, Nora Tello, Maria G. Villagran, Jessica Zamora, and Jovanelly Zaragoza.

Yessica Nunez and Daniela Ochoa received the Texas AMP Scholarship through A&M International this Fall and received the Scholarship previously through a lower-level institution.

A&M International students who wish to apply for the scholarship should contact Texas AMP Scholarship Coordinator Dr. Julio F. Madrigal, professor of Counseling Education, at 326-2681. University office hours are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday.
