Top Expert on Educational Leadership at A&M International Conference April 28-29

One of the nation's top experts on school administrator training will be a featured presenter at Texas A&M International University's Conference "School Leadership: Embracing the Challenge," scheduled April 28-29.

Dr. John Hoyle, professor of Educational Administration at Texas A&M University,will present the Closing Session and Luncheon Presentation, "Educational Leadership: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow."

Considered one of the leading reformers in administrator training, Dr. Hoyle has been interviewed in U.S. News and World Report, USA Today, and Omni magazines. His book, Leadership and Futuring: Making Visions Happen, published by Corwin Press (1995), gained wide readership and was a bestseller.

The Conference, hosted by the University's College of Education, will begin Friday, April 28 with registration from 4-6 p.m. in the Great Room of the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library. Two sessions will follow from 6-8 p.m.

Regular Registration Fees are $85 on site. Student Registration Fees are $60.

Additional topics to be explored at the Conference include "Grants and Partnerships in Education," "Legal Implications on Educational Practices in Special Education, " "Principal Assessment and Evaluation," and "Exemplary Practices of Exemplary Schools."

Other presenters scheduled are Dr. Ronald D. Stephens, Executive Director of the National School Safety Center in Denver; Sally Cain, US Secretary of Education, Regional Representative ; Jim Walsh, attorney with Walsh, Anderson, Brown, Schulze and Aldreidge of Austin and State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) representatives Mark Gonzalez and John Weil.
