This summer, children of all ages can go "Around the World in 11 Weeks" thanks to a student organization at Texas A&M International University.

The University's Rotaract Club will host 11 free special presentations that focus on the different home countries of the Club's international members, including Albania, Colombia, India, Morocco, Mexico, and other countries.

The presentations will be held at the Laredo Public Library on Saturdays beginning June 3, explained Maria Garcia, Rotaract Club president.

"Every presentation will offer information about the featured country's culture, customs, food, language but each presentation will be unique. Some will feature story telling, others will involve reading children's books from the featured country. Also, some presenters will dress in the native dress of their country," said Garcia.

She noted that all the presentations will be fun, educational experiences that will include opportunities for participants to ask questions and travel vicariously to exotic locations around the globe.

The June 3 presentation, scheduled for 2 - 3:30 p.m., will be presented by Juan Carlos Londono, a native of Colombia. He will tell stories of his homeland, show photos of his country, and answer questions.
