Kids, what's fun and leaves you fit all over? Texas A&M International University's "Firecracker Fest" scheduled for Saturday, June 17 from 12 - 5 p.m. in the University's Kinesiology/Convocation Building.

Event organizer Shelly Peacock, Instructor of Education at A&M International, explained the carnival-like "Firecracker Fest" will feature fun games that encourage fitness and motor development in elementary and middle school aged children and teach first aid/safety.

"We'll have both indoor games and outdoor water games that promote motor development in children. These games are positive, fun activities fit for every child. We encourage all parents to bring their children to this event," said Peacock.

Children can play as many games as desired for a $5 admission fee. Admission for parents and guardians is free.

In additional to the fun games, kids can also enter a contest for the most patriotic dress. The contest will be judged about 3 p.m. and winners will be awarded prizes.

Food and refreshments will also be available.

For more information, please contact Peacock at 326-2672. University office hours are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday.
