The fairy tales, folklore, and history of Argentina and Panama will be the focus of an "Around the World in 11 Weeks" presentation to be held Saturday, June 10, 2 - 3:30 p.m. at the Laredo Public Library.

Designed to enlighten children of all ages, the free presentation is sponsored by the Rotaract Club, a student service organization at Texas A&M International University.

Rotaract Club president Maria Garcia said Saturday's presentation is the second in an 11-week series that will be held at the Public Library on Saturday afternoons, 2 - 3:30 p.m. through August 12.

"These free 'Around the World' presentations focus on the home countries of the Rotaract Club's international members, including Albania, Colombia, India, Morocco, Mexico, and other countries. Presenters will offer information about their country's culture, customs, food, language, and some will wear the native dress of their country," said Garcia.

She added that the presentations will be fun educational experiences that will include opportunities for participants to ask questions and travel vicariously to exotic locations around the globe.

Additional information about the "Around the World" series may be obtained by contacting the University's Office of Public Affairs at 326-2180 or by calling the Laredo Public Library at 795-2400.
