With the global marketplace a given, enhanced foreign language skills afford distinct opportunities. This Fall, Texas A&M International University is offering an array of new foreign languages courses that can give students a global edge in that marketplace.

An "Intensive Portuguese" (PORT 3301-161) class will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-8:15 p.m. This intensive course is designed to give Spanish speakers a reading knowledge of the language and basic oral competency. Olga Verduzco, a native Brazilian whose first language is Portuguese, will teach the class.

Three classes in French, "Elementary French I" (FREN 1301-101), "Elementary French II" (FREN 1302-101) and "Intermediate French I (FREN 2301-102) will be presented.

"Intermediate French I," being offered for the first time, will meet Tuesday and Thursdays from 9:30- 10:45 a.m. in Bullock Hall 201. All courses will be taught by Valerie Jeanne Rasmussen, a native speaker of French.

In addition to an extensive selection of Spanish language courses, one class will take students back to the ancient intrigue of Latin.
