Mark your calendar. Texas A&M International University's sixth annual "Dusty Fun Run and Walk" is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 8:30 a.m. on the A&M International campus.

The event provides a fun way for everyone from grade school students to grandparents to help support student scholarships said A&M International president Dr. Charles Jennett.

"In order to achieve our goal of attracting the best and brightest students to A&M International, we must provide our students with the necessary financial support to pursue their academic endeavors. The University has received kind assistance from the State of Texas, however, we cannot rely on this help alone. With the partnership of our community, we can assure that all A&M International students can receive the assistance they need to make their dreams come true," he said.

Dr. Jennett noted that the community's response to the Dusty Fun Run and Walk has been tremendous. Last year's event attracted over 180 runners and walkers, including some from as far away as Monterrey and Kingsville. He hopes this year's event will draw even more participants.

"We're looking forward to a record participation and assistance for our student scholarship fundraising efforts," he said.
