Fourteen members of Texas A&M International University's Environment Protection Society (EPS) travelled to Monterrey, Mexico to study the country's natural resources.

Participating in the three-day ecological tour were Aurora Dominguez; Claudia Duran; Patricia Esquivel; Homero Garcia; Eduardo Gonzalez, EPS president; Claudia Hernandez; Yessica Nuñez, vice-president; Daniela Ochoa, historian; Conchita Pedraza, treasurer; Melinda Perez; Elizabeth Ruiz; Hanish Sharma; Eduardo Valladares; and Valerie Vitella.

Among the highlights of the trip was an exploration of Chipinque Park, a 1,625 acre national park located in the Sierra Madre Oriental. Chipinque Park is renowned for its scenic beauty, lush vegetation, and diverse wildlife. It is one of the region's most popular sites for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy hiking, jogging, cycling, and communing with nature.

While in Monterrey, EPS members also had an opportunity to tour Monterrey's charming "Plaza San Agustin" and "Los Cavazos," a trendy area of roadside shops and restaurants.

The Environment Protection Society is an officially chartered University student organization. A&M International students formed the EPS to protect and improve the Earth's natural resources, raise awareness of environmental issues, protect endangered species, work for a clean environment, promote student participation and encourage dialog and interaction among students.

Membership in the organization is open to all A&M International students. Community members may also be admitted to the EPS, at its discretion. Persons who wish to join the EPS should contact EPS president Eduardo Gonzalez at 712-0001 or by email at wayog@hotmail.com.
