A&M International Art Professor in Three South Texas Exhibits

Texas A&M International University assistant professor of Art Janet Eager Krueger is part of three current South Texas art exhibits.

Her current work, including work that has been shown at the Laredo Center for the Arts, is now on display at San Antonio's Hunt Gallery, located at 4225 McCullough in the Olmos Park area.

Her work will also be part of the 1st Biennial Visual Perspective Invitational at the Joseph A. Cain Memorial Art Gallery at the Del Mar College East campus in Corpus Christi, opening Oct. 13.

Krueger will provide a gallery lecture on her works at the Cain Memorial Art Gallery on Friday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. The exhibit will remain on display through Nov. 30.

She is also participating in a group show, "The Laredo Invitational Exhibit," at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi's Fine Arts Center. The Exhibit will be on display at the Weil Gallery through November 21. Krueger will be joined by faculty members from Laredo Community College's art department in this exhibit.

Krueger joined A&M International in 1998 and holds her MFA in Painting from the University of Texas-San Antonio and a BFA in Art History from UT-Austin.

The recipient of numerous prizes and awards for her work, she has exhibited across the state, including the offices of Laura Bush, the Wunderlich Gallery and Blue Door Gallery in San Antonio and Texas A&M College Station, among others. She is currently represented by the Hunt Gallery and Carrington-Gallagher Ltd. of San Antonio.

Two years ago, she addressed the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities Meeting in San Antonio, sharing her experiences as a teaching and working artist and offering a retrospective of her work and how it was shaped by her audience. Much of her art work documents life as it evolves at her ranch home in near Encinal.

Most recently, she has helped the University to design its retrospective photographic history exhibit for its "Dreams to Reality" exhibit, showing at the Laredo Center for the Arts Oct. 3-22.
