High school upperclassmen planning on attending a university can learn ways to finance their education at Laredo's only Financial Aid Fair Thursday, Feb. 1 from 9 a.m.-1 a.m. and from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at Texas A&M International University's Kinesiology/Convocation Building.

The Third Annual A&M International Financial Aid Fair is designed for students and their families and provides a variety of information on financing a university education, said Araceli Rangel, A&M International's Financial Aid director.

"This event has become one of the most popular community service offerings by the University and we encourage those interested to attend and meet with financial aid experts and lenders who provide student loans for college," she said, "We will also provide income tax preparation assistance for students and parents as well as assistance with the financial aid application process."

As usual, students will also be able to submit their financial aid applications electronically, Rangel said.

Students and their families need to bring their W-2 forms and any pertinent information to the Fair, Rangel said. In addition, students must provide copies of income information for completion or verification of financial aid application.

Rangel said the Fair is an example of A&M International's commitment to facilitating access to information about financial aid and programs for all Laredo residents.

"A university education will ensure the continuous success of our community and region. Our Fair provides access to vital information and could help students and their families secure their educational future. We feel proud to be able to provide this service and hope we can help everyone realize their higher education dreams," she said.
