Texas A&M International University will hold its 2001 Spring Dance Concert Friday, April 20 at 8 p.m. in the Kinesiology/Convocation Building.

The theme of the Concert is "Dance Through The Decades" and will feature members of the A&M International Classical Spanish and Dance Performance Troupes.

Concert director Bede Leyendecker, assistant professor of dance at A&M International, said the program will provide a presentation that will interest participants of all ages.

"The program features a variety of dances that marked each of the decades from the 1910's to the present. For example, we will perform tango, Charleston, the jitterbug, and swing," Leyendecker said, "We will also dance to favorites like rock n' roll, disco, modern jazz, hip hop and more."

Admission to the Spring Dance Concert is free and the community is cordially invited to attend.

The concert is one of several fine and performing arts events that showcase A&M International's growth in the arts arena. A Fine and Performing Arts Center is part of the $49.5 million Phase III expansion of the University.

For further information, please contact Leyendecker at 326-2640. University office hours are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
