A&M International Mousepads Help Library Patrons 'Go Further'
Patrons at Laredo's Public Libraries will have a chance to "go further" with the recent donation by Texas A&M International University of mousepads for all public computer stations.
The mousepads, which feature the University's trademarked "Go Further" slogan, were a gift from University president Dr. Charles Jennett and the University's Enrollment Management Office.
"The University is technology -centered and believes in partnerships that can help to underscore the importance of technology for all of our futures. We are happy to be able to provide these mousepads and help Library patrons 'go further,' " Dr. Jennett said.
Approximately 250 of the distinctive pads will soon be found on Library computer stations at the main library and branch operations at the Bruni Library downtown and the Santo Nino Library in South Laredo.
Library Director Janice Weber said she appreciated the University's donation and welcomes its partnership.
"More and more of our Library patrons are utilizing our growing number of computer stations and this donation will further help us to provide for their future needs by allowing us to redirect funding allocations to other computer needs within our operations. We appreciate this partnership and know that our Library patrons will as well," she explained.
She noted that the Library system had recently added over 40 new computers to address the growing demand for services.
