A&M International "University Life Awards" Recipients Recognized

Texas A&M International University announced the recipients of the 2000-2001 "University Life Awards."

The recipients and categories included Dr. Jana Pisani, History

Club, for Most Outstanding Sponsor Award; Felipe Pantoja, Student Ambassadors, Freshmen Excellence Award; the Ballet Folklórico, Most Active Student Organization of the Year; Student Ambassadors, Outstanding Community Service Award; and the Pre-Law Society, the Coolest Shirt Award.

The recipients were recognized at a reception held recently in the Great Room of the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library.

The Department of Student Development and the Student Government Association host the event to acknowledge contributions that student organizations have made to the University experience.

Gabriela Mendoza-Garcia, associate director of Student Development, said the award recipients are sponsors, members and officers of student organizations who have been recognized for their involvement in student organizations.

"By becoming active in student organizations, these individuals have made a valuable contribution to the University experience. We would like to congratulate them for their efforts and encourage others to become a part of providing students a unique experience at A&M International," Mendoza-Garcia said.
