Campus, Community Forums Scheduled for A&M International President Search

Campus and community interviews of candidates for the presidency of Texas A&M International University will begin this week.

The finalists were announced last Monday by presidential search advisory committee chair Dr. Walter Wendler, vice chancellor for planning and system integration for The Texas A&M University System.

The finalists are Dr. Danny Arnold, dean of the New Mexico State University College of Business; Dr. Raymond T. Garza, director of the Metropolitan Research and Policy Institute, University of Texas-San Antonio, and Dr. Ray Keck, provost, Texas A&M International University.

Forums open to the community are scheduled as follows:

June 14 - Bullock Hall 118, 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.-- Dr. Danny Arnold, Dean of the New Mexico State University College of Business.

June 19 - Bullock Hall 118, 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. -- Dr. Raymond T. Garza, Director of the Metropolitan Research and Policy Institute, University of Texas-San Antonio.

June 27 - Bullock Hall 118, 2:30-3:30 p.m. -- Dr. Ray Keck, Provost, Texas A&M International University.

Dr. Wendler has indicated that the Chancellor's and Board of Regents' goal is to name a president by the end of July and have him in office by the middle of August.

The search process began in January after president Charles Jennett announced his retirement effective the end of August.
