A&M International Offers Transfer Day for LCC Students

Laredo Community College students planning to attend Texas A&M International University in the Fall will have an opportunity to ask questions on the process of transferring during an event scheduled Wednesday, July 18 at the LCC campus.

The event, known as "Transfer Day," is held every semester to provide students information on class schedules, financial aid, and the application process. It will be held from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. in LCC's University Hall, room 211.

Minita Ramirez, executive director of Enrollment Management, said LCC students are encouraged to take advantage of Transfer Day to receive information on when to transfer, which courses taken will be accepted at the University, financial aid, and the requirements for obtaining a bachelor's degree.

"This event is a great opportunity for LCC students that happens on-site. They will get individual attention as they receive admissions and academic counseling as well as financial aid advisement. In addition, they will be able to register for classes," Ramirez said.

Transfer Day also serves to familiarize students with the four-year University, Ramirez said.

"We hope that by providing this service to LCC students, more students will be aware of the opportunities available to them at A&M International," she said.
