The number of language courses available at Texas A&M International University is increasing. This Fall, students can study French, Latin, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Olga Verduzco, a native of Brazil, will teach a new class, "Beginning Portuguese I." Offered from 6-7:15 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, this course will be of special interest to those interested in international trade. Spanish majors should take note, as they must take six hours in a second Romance language.

Also new this Fall is "Intermediate Spanish I for Non-Native Speakers." This course is the first course in the second year of a two-year program designed to promote fluency in Spanish among non-native speakers and will be from 7:30-8:45 p.m., Monday and Wednesday.

For those interested in exploring beyond grammar and verb conjugation, Spanish literature classes offer a glimpse not only into Spanish-speaking culture but also history. Students can choose from eight Spanish literature classes including "19th Century Spanish Novel" and "Cervantes and Don Quijote."

For those well-versed in Spanish, the College of Business is offering several graduate-level business courses in Spanish. From "Research Methodology" to "International Management," students can study the business world while utilizing their Spanish.
