Eat Drink Man Woman Seventh Film in A&M International's Feasting on Light: 2001 Fall Film Festival

The seventh film for Texas A&M International University's Fall Film Festival Series: "Feasting on Light" is Eat Drink Man Woman. The film will be shown Wednesday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m. in Bullock Hall 101 and is free and open to the public.

With multiple characters, subtle plot twists and fabulous photography, this film offers more than a delectable on-screen feast. By exploring the family dynamics of an elder Taiwanese Master Chef and his three daughters, the audience is treated to an intimate view of their relationships and foibles.

Complex and layered, this film examines the generation gap, aging and the use of food as a replacement for emotional contact. Viewers will leave starving for food, but with plenty of food for thought.

Shown in Mandarin Chinese with English subtitles, the film is not rated but is suitable for most audiences.

After the show, there will be 15 to 30 minutes of commentary and questions and answers, led by Series creators Dr. Sean M. Chadwell and Dr. William J. Nichols II, both assistant professors in the College of Arts and Humanities.

The next film in the Series, The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, will be shown on October 31.
