Lionel Sosa Fall Commencement Speaker at A&M International

Lionel Sosa, member of the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents and icon of Hispanic success in entrepreneurship, will serve as Fall 2001 Commencement Speaker for graduation exercises scheduled Saturday, Dec. 15 at 9 a.m. at Texas A&M International University, in front of the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library.

The December graduation will be the first graduation ceremony to be held in front of the Killam Library.

More than 200 students are candidates for undergraduate or graduate degrees, and this will mark the largest class ever to graduate from A&M International. The College of Business Administration has the largest representation, with 75 students, followed by the College of Education, with 74. A total of 70 students from the College of Arts and Humanities are candidates for graduation and 14 from the College of Science and Technology.

Most popular degrees among graduation candidates in this Commencement include the BIS in Education, with 54 candidates; BBA in Business, with 43; and BA in Arts and Humanities, with 42 candidates.

Sosa, a highly successful advertising executive, is the founder of Sosa, Bromley, Aguilar & Associates (now Bromley Communications), the largest Hispanic advertising agency in the United States. He is the author of The Americano Dream: How Latinos Can Achieve Success in Business and In Life. He was also named one of the "100 Most Influential Hispanics in the U.S." by the Hispanic Business magazine. Sosa has also served as a media consultant for President George W. Bush in the 2000 campaign.
