Area businesses and non-profit organizations searching for future employees are invited to participate in an annual job fair at Texas A&M International University that promises to attract hundreds of attendants.

The "Global Opportunities 2002: Career and Job Fair" will be held March 20 from 1-5 p.m. in the Kinesiology/Convocation Building.

Employers, including government agencies and school districts, may register to participate in the Fair through Friday, Feb. 15 by contacting the Office of Career Services at 326-2260 or email career_services@tamiu.edu.

Virginia García, A&M International director of Career Services, said "Global Opportunities 2002" provides a forum for employers to meet A&M International students, alumni and community members and discuss job, internship, volunteer and other career opportunities they have available.

The Fair has become a popular event in Laredo over the years, García said.

"Last year, we had more than 120 employers and 500 job seekers participate in 'Global Opportunities'," García said. "We encourage all those employers looking for an educated and qualified workforce to participate in this worthwhile event."
