Historic Signing Event to Introduce New Team Members at A&M International

The first athletic signing for the new Texas A&M International University Athletic Program will take place Jan. 28 at 3:30 p.m. in the Kinesiology-Convocation Building.

Coach Steve Garippa, director of athletics, said A&M International is excited to invite the community to the event.

"This historic event will introduce members of the new women's volleyball varsity team. In addition, announcements will be made about the coaching staff," Garippa said.

The newly created Athletic Program plans to begin varsity play for women's volleyball and women and men's soccer in the Fall 2002 semester. Future sports include women and men's golf in Spring 2003, women and men's basketball in Fall 2003, women and men's tennis in 2004 and men's baseball and women's softball in 2005.
