Texas A&M International University has been awarded a "2002 Educators of Distinction Award" by Saludos Hispanos/Saludos.com, the leading career and education site and magazine for bilingual Hispanics.

Rosemarie Garcia-Solomon, publisher of Saludos Hispanos, said the Distinction Awards are given to institutions that have demonstrated a commitment to higher education success for Hispanics.

"Education is the key to success for Hispanics," said Garcia-Solomon, "we congratulate the Educators of Distinction Award recipients for leading the way, providing high standards of education, career planning and counseling to Hispanic students."

Dr. Ray Keck, A&M International president, said the University is honored by the Award and committed to continuing to earn its distinction.

"We have long focused on educational programs and services that are relevant to our students and help them to lead lives of purpose and substance. This award is indicative of that commitment and we pledge to continue to earn its honor. I especially laud the efforts of our student services and career planning and placement offices," he explained.
