PAIS Communications Specialist Gets Bronze CASE Award

Jessica Whitt Ratliff, communications specialist with the Texas A&M International University Office of Public Affairs and Information Services, has been named the recipient of a Bronze Achievement Award for General Feature Writing by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Southwest District IV's Communication Awards Competition at its recent Conference in Oklahoma City. Ratliff's award was for her story on A&M International assistant professor of history Dr. Carlos Cuellar's efforts to save the endangered archives and history of Guerrero Viejo. The story appeared in the University's magazine, "Prism."

Originally from Colorado, Ratliff holds a B.A. in International Relations from Pacific University and an M.A. in International Relations from Yale University. While at Pacific, she traveled in China and speaks Mandarin Chinese.

Prior to joining the University, she worked for the public relations firm of Fenton Communications in New York City, where she coordinated public relations for a million-dollar account. Prior to that post, she held a position in intellectual properties promotion for Louisiana State University and also worked for Amnesty International as a Co-Group Intern.

Ratliff is married to A&M International Reference/Interlibrary Loan Librarian, David G. Ratliff.
