Registration for Summer Session I and the Long Summer Session at Texas A&M International University is scheduled Friday, May 31 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.in the Registrar's Office, Killam Library 168, for students needing to clear holds and new transfer students.

First-time freshmen and recently applied students should visit the Admissions Office, Killam Library 155, first.

SSI Classes begin June 3 and end July 5. Late registration continues through June 4 only. Long Summer Session Classes also begin June 3 and continue through Aug. 8.

Maria Rosillo, TAMIU director of admissions, said Summer Sessions have traditionally been a time for students of all ages to get ahead on their degree plan.

"We see a great number of undergraduate students who wish to get a few courses completed before they enroll here in the Fall. Those who have already been accepted at other institutions or are enrolled elsewhere also find it advantageous to take courses here before transferring," said Rosillo.

Graduate students also take advantage of summer session offerings, she noted.

"Another large group is students beginning or continuing graduate programs. For example, local educators find summer an ideal time to continue their progress on a masters or additional certification. Qualified high school students can also take University courses during the summer," she noted.

Summer Session II registration is July 8 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.in the Registrar's Office. Classes begin July 9 and end Aug. 10. Late registration continues through July 10 only.
