TAMIU Summer Session II Registration Set Monday

General registration for Summer Session II at Texas A&M International University is Monday, July 8 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Classes start Tuesday, July 9. Late registration ends Wednesday, July 10 at 7 p.m.

Summer Sessions traditionally offer students of all ages an opportunity to get ahead on their degree plan, said Maria Rosillo, TAMIU director of admissions.

"Some students wish to get a few courses completed before they enroll here in the Fall. Others who have already been accepted at other institutions or are enrolled elsewhere also find it advantageous to take courses here before transferring. Qualified high school students can also take University courses during the summer, and students beginning or continuing graduate programs usually do so in summer sessions," said Rosillo.

Summer Session I, which ended Saturday, July 6, saw an enrollment increase of 20 percent. Summer I headcount was 2,232, compared to 1,857 during Summer I last year. The same, or higher, increase is expected for Summer Session II.
