TAMIU Provost Open Forums Continue Thursday

Texas A&M International University's national search for a new provost and vice president continues this week with the second of the three candidates for the post.

Joe Garcia, vice president for finance and administration and chair of the search committee, said the Forums are intended to give the public an opportunity to participate in the University's selection process.

The forum will take place Thursday, Oct. 31, at 1:15 p.m. in Western Hemispheric Trade Center room 116 with Dr. Dan R. Jones.

Dr. Jones is dean of University College at the University of Houston-Downtown.

The final forum will take place Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 1:15 p.m. in WHTC 116, with Dr. Mauro E. Castro.

Dr. Castro is associate dean of the School of Pharmacy at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

The provost and vice president for academic affairs is TAMIU's chief academic officer and is responsible for the maintenance, development and implementation of the University's academic programs.
