Laredo Vets Remember at TAMIU, Monday, Nov. 25

The Daughters of the American Revolution, Lucy Meriwether Chapter, along with Texas A&M International University's Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library and the History Club present "Remembering the 'Forgotten War:' Personal Accounts of the Korean War by Laredo Veterans" on Monday, November 25 at 7 p.m. in the Student Center, room 236. This event is part of the observation of the 50th anniversary of the Korean War and is free and open to the public.

Topics and presenters include: David C. Leyendecker, Former Sergeant, USMC, "A Marine's View of 'The Forgotten War,'" Jack O. Hazlerig, Ph.D, Former Private First Class, "How I Learned Humility" and Dr. Xiaoming Zhang, associate professor of history, "Historical Significance of Remembering the Korean War."

There will be a question and answer session with George Díaz, TAMIU History Club President. In addition, Dr. Zhang's book, Red Wings Over the Yalu: China, the Soviet Union, and the Air War in Korea will be available for sale, and he will autograph it.
