User-Friendly Business Data Seminar Set at TAMIU Thursday, Dec. 12

Making wise and profitable business decisions might be easier next year for local entrepreneurs. Texas A&M International University's College of Business Administration is offering a seminar, entitled "User-Friendly Business Data," on Thursday, Dec. 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Western Hemispheric Trade Center, room 104.

Dr. Jacqueline Mayfield, associate professor of management and director of professional development programs, said the workshop will cover important aspects of data analysis.

"This seminar will help people with basic data analysis applications including forecasting and descriptive statistics for business decision making. It will also cover effective communication strategies for data analysis and decision making, and will provide an overview of data resources available at TAMIU," said Dr. Mayfield.

In addition, Mayfield said free data analysis software will be given to those who sign up before Dec. 9.

Presenters at the seminar will include Dr. Milton Mayfield, director of the Center for Business and Education Research; Dr. Jacqueline Mayfield; and Suzanne Alford, associate director of the Western Hemispheric Information Center. The cost is $15 per person.
