Subway Diet Hero Fogle Joins in AHA Heart Walk at TAMIU Feb. 8

One of TV's most recognized faces, Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle, will lead the local chapter of the American Heart Association's American Heart Walk at Texas A&M International University on Saturday, Feb. 8 from 8 a.m. - 12 noon.

This is the second year that TAMIU hosts the national event that focuses on exercise as an important part of a heart-healthy lifestyle.

Teams, volunteers, and sponsors are being recruited city-wide for this 3-mile walk that enhances the AHA's ability to generate revenue and provides an opportunity for participants to have fun while supporting lifesaving heart disease research and education.

National sponsors for the 2003 American Heart Walk are Subway and NutriSoy.

Gold sponsor is Central Power and Light. Silver sponsors include Doctor's Hospital, Mercy Health Systems, and Area Wide Phone Book.

Other sponsors are JAMCO International, Sleep and Seizure Centers, H.E.B., Bolanos & Co. Inc., WaterMill Express and International Bank of Commerce. Sponsorships are available for those interested in donating or providing services for the American Heart Walk.

Individuals or corporations interested in registering teams for the walk should call toll free (877) 938-0612 for more information. Proceeds benefit the lifesaving research and education programs of the American Heart Association.
