TAMIU Lecture Series Focuses on Future of Maquiladora April 2

An expert on trade law will explore the future of the maquiladora for the Wednesday, April 2 installment of the Texas A&M International University Center for the Study of Western Hemispheric Trade Keynote Speaker Series at 8 p.m. in the Western Hemispheric Trade Center, room 116.

Admission is free of charge and open to the public.

Leslie Glick, attorney at law, will present the lecture.

He is the author of five books including the Guide to United Customs and Trade Laws, Second Edition, published in 1997. Other publications include Understanding the North American Free Trade Agreement, Multilateral Trade Negotiations: World Trade After the Tokyo Round, and "Settling Unfair Trade Practices Cases Under Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930," for the Harvard International Law Journal.

Glick earned his J.D. at Cornell Law School and his B.S. at Cornell University. He has been an adjunct professor of law at George Mason University Law School (University of Virginia) and University of Baltimore (University of Maryland).

He has advised a number of companies and trade associations in regard to U.S./Mexico legal questions involving imports, exports, investment, immigration and transportation and is an active developer of Customs compliance programs for U.S. corporations.

He has handled major international trade cases before the U.S. International Trade Commission, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Office of the U.S. Trade representative and the Court of International Trade. In addition, he is also an expert on cases arising under the U.S. Customs Laws involving classification, valuation, country of origin in making and customs fraud.
