Early Bird Deadline Extended for TAMIU Alumni Association Benefit Golf Tournament

The early bird deadline for entry into the Texas A&M International University Alumni Association Golf Tournament benefiting students scholarships has been extended. Originally set to close on Friday, April 11, the deadline is now Friday, April 18.

Early bird entry fee is $125 per player if received before April 18, 2003 and $175 thereafter. Team entry early bird fee is $375 prior to April 15 and $525 thereafter. Entry fee includes golf cart and green fees, gift pack with shirt, cap and golfing accessories and breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Awards Banquet.

The 8th annual Tournament is scheduled Friday and Saturday, April 25-26 at the Lake Casa Blanca Golf Course.

Tournament format is a three-person scramble with two tee off times, 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 26. On Friday, April 25, from 5-9:30 p.m., golfers, their friends, event sponsors and organizers can participate in a reception and silent auction as well as a variety of skill contests.

Among items schedule for the silent auction are Byron Nelson Tournament passes, a six-day stay for 8-18 at the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch, and gift certificates from an assortment of retailers and restaurants.

The University is encouraging all members of the Alumni Association, including graduates of TAMIU and the former Texas A&I University at Laredo and Laredo State University, to attend and participate in the event.

Golf Cart sponsors include American Filtration,Geo Mortgage and US Cellular.

Additional contributors include Carmin's Flower and Gift Shop and Dr. Carmen Rathmell.
