TAMIU Alumni Golf Tournament Begins Friday at Casa Blanca

An opportunity to help generate student scholarships at Texas A&M International University will be available as the TAMIU Alumni Association Golf Tournament takes to the links at Lake Casa Blanca Golf Course this weekend.

The 8th annual Tournament is scheduled Friday and Saturday, April 25-26 at the Lake Casa Blanca Golf Course.

On Friday, April 25, from 5-9:30 p.m., golfers, their friends, event sponsors and organizers can participate in a reception and silent auction as well as five skill contests, including a $1 million hole-in-one opportunity and a $50,000 putting contest.

Among items scheduled for the silent auction are Byron Nelson Tournament passes, a six-day stay for 8-18 guests at the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch, and gift certificates from an assortment of retailers and restaurants, and much more.

Player entry fee is $175 and $525 for three-person team. Entry fee includes golf cart and green fees, gift pack with shirt, cap and golfing accessories and breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Awards Banquet.

The Tournament format is a three-person scramble with two tee-off times, 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 26.

All members of the Alumni Association, including graduates of TAMIU and the former Texas A&I University at Laredo and Laredo State University, are especially encouraged to attend and participate in the event.

Additional contributors include Carmin's Flower and Gift Shop and Dr. Carmen Rathmell.

University office hours for the Spring semester are from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
